How to compete successfully in endurance sports?

Aerobic training: Endurance athletes require excellent cardiovascular fitness because their sports rely heavily on the aerobic energy system.
Endurance: Athletes must have a high level of endurance to endure long-term exertion and cope with fatigue during long-distance events.
Mental Endurance: Endurance sports often involve mental challenges that require athletes to focus, stay motivated, and overcome discomfort or difficult moments.
Efficient Energy Use: Athletes must develop the ability to efficiently use energy sources such as carbohydrates and fats to sustain sustained effort over extended periods of time.
Strategic Pacing: Understanding the right pace is crucial to avoid early fatigue and to ensure consistent performance throughout the duration.

Reminder

  • Be sure to test the suitability of the products for your body during training.
  • Avoid consuming new products during the competition.
  • If you want to use gels and/or sports drinks during competitions as well, be sure to try your desired nutrition tactics in advance and at the same intensity as the competition effort. Repeat these types of energy-boosting workouts before an important race.
  • Administer carbohydrates in the form of gel and/or sports drink approx. 40-90g/hour depending on the length of the competition. We recommend taking extra energy for races that are lasting more than 1 hour.
  • You don’t need to use a recovery drink after every workout, but be sure to consume the recovery drink as soon as possible after difficult training sessions and competitions. The sooner the better!
